Indore: Police extorted Rs 27 lakh by threatening teenagers, IPS also found guilty in probe

In Indore, the financial capital of Madhya Pradesh, police personnel in Tilak Nagar district threatened a person and collected Rs 27 lakh from him in an illegal weapons case. For this one-year-old case, the DCP said the investigation report has arrived. Interestingly, the story of the investigation in which the police were convicted was masterminded by an IPS himself.

According to sources, a young man complained to the police that some police personnel at the police station and ACP office were intimidating him and demanding Rs 27 lakh from him in connection with an illegal weapons case. The young man also claimed that he was detained by police and detained for two days.

He even had to sell his car to pay for the police. The young man has lodged a complaint with senior police officers over the entire incident. Subsequently, relevant departments began to investigate the matter. ACP Pardeshipura has launched an investigation and submitted a report to senior officials in the matter. The investigation report makes it clear that police officers refused to identify the young man in court. However, during the investigation, it was discovered that all police officers were at the same location as the incident.

After the police failed to take any action in the matter, the complainant has now moved the High Court. It calls for action against the guilty police officers. After the investigation report came out, DCP Abhinav Vishwakarma said that an inquiry has been conducted into the matter. The investigation is currently under observation. Following this, action will be taken against the police.
