IndiGo tail collision: DGCA begins investigation into September 9 incident, crew sacked

IndiGo parent company InterGlobe Aviation Limited said on Tuesday it has grounded the A321 aircraft on Delhi-Bangalore flight 6E-6054, which was involved in a tail collision on September 9.

Gurgaon-based IndiGo said the aircraft was grounded in Bengaluru due to a tail strike.

The budget airline also informed that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched an investigation into the incident and has removed the crew of flight 6E-6054 on September 9, 2024.

“On September 9, 2024, an IndiGo A321 aircraft was grounded at Bengaluru due to a tail strike. The aircraft is currently undergoing maintenance and will resume operations after necessary repairs. The incident is under investigation,” PTI quoted IndiGo as saying.
