The Indian Coast Guard has seized a large quantity of drugs weighing about five tons from a fishing vessel in the Andaman waters. This is believed to be the largest haul of drugs ever seized by the Indian Coast Guard. Defense officials provided this information.
However, Coast Guard officials have not provided information on the types of drugs and their prices. No information about the trial or arrest in this case has been provided. Officials said information will be provided only after the investigation of the case is complete.
Drugs worth Rs 6 crore seized in Bengaluru, 5 arrested
Previously, in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, the police took separate actions on November 22 and seized two batches of huge amounts of drugs worth more than 60 million rupees and arrested five people. Police suspect the drugs were smuggled into Bengaluru and surrounding areas during the New Year celebrations.
In the first case, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police arrested two foreigners from the Soradwanahalli police station area. The police seized ecstasy, ecstasy and other illegal drugs. Police seized 1.5 kilograms of MDMA crystals, 202 grams of cocaine and 12 ecstasy pills. The drugs are said to be worth around Rs 3 crore. Superintendent of Police B Dayanand said the two foreigners came to India on medical visas five years ago and were involved in drug sales in Mumbai and Delhi.
In the second case, police arrested three persons and seized 318 kg of cannabis worth Rs 325 crore from their possession. The drug was brought to Bengaluru from Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. Acting on a tip-off, Govindpura police arrested the accused for carrying marijuana in the car. Police also impounded the vehicle. (with language input)
