Harmanpreet Kaur to lead India’s 15-member squad for the ICC Women’s T20WorldCup 2024: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian team for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. All-rounder Harmanpreet Kaur will lead a strong 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in the UAE.

India today (August 27) announced its squad for the World Cup starting on October 3. The women’s team, which reached the semi-finals last season, has been placed in Group A of the competition along with Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Harmanpreet will be supported by vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, who will open with Shefali Verma. Dayalan Hemalatha is another top order option in the team. Apart from her, Jemima Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh will form a strong batting line-up.

Richa has been included in the team as a wicketkeeper along with Yastika Bhatia. Renuka Singh, Pooja Vastrakar, Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav, Asha Shobhana, Sajna Sajeevan and Shreyanka Patil will take charge of the bowling. India has all-rounders like Harmanpreet, Sajna, Shobhana and Deepti.

Note: The selection of Yastika and Shreyanka will be based on fitness as both the players have been struggling with injuries for the last few months. India will also have three reserve players for the event to be held in UAE.
