India on Monday strongly condemned the vandalism of the BAPS Swaminarayan temple in Melville, New York and called for immediate action, saying such acts of vandalism were unacceptable.

The Indian Consulate in New York said in a statement that it is in touch with the local community and has discussed the issue with US law enforcement officials to ensure immediate action against those responsible for this heinous act.

Hindu groups condemned the attack

Meanwhile, an Indian American organization also condemned the attack and called for an investigation by the U.S. government.
