GDS Merit List Out: India Post has released the first merit list for Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2024. Candidates who have applied for GDS posts can check the merit list by visiting the official websites indiapostgdsonline.gov.in and indiapostgdsonline.cept.gov.in.
Merit list released for 12 states
Let us tell you that India Post has released List-I of shortlisted candidates for Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and West Bengal circles. Results of other circles will be released soon.
The official notification states that “Shortlisted candidates should get their documents verified through the divisional head mentioned against their name on or before September 3, 2024. Shortlisted candidates should report for verification with their original documents and two sets of photocopies of all relevant documents.”

Step 3- Select your respective circle and click on the list of shortlisted candidates
Step 4- A new page will open.
Step 5- Check the list and download it.
Step 6- Take a printout for future reference.
How many posts will be filled
The recruitment drive aims to fill the vacant posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks in 23 circles across the country. The recruitment is conducted state-wise, with each state being allotted a different number of posts, including 2,718 posts in Rajasthan, 2,558 posts in Bihar, 4,588 posts in Uttar Pradesh, 4,011 posts in Madhya Pradesh and 1,338 posts in Chhattisgarh.
What after the merit list is released?
Candidates selected from the merit list will have to undergo the process of physical verification. The dates for verification can be announced along with the release of the merit list. Candidates are advised to keep an eye on the official website for latest updates.
How much salary will I get?
Salary for Gramin Dak Sevak posts in the Postal Department ranges from Rs 12,000 to Rs 16,000 per month depending on the specific role and location. GDS, BPM and ABPM posts may also include additional benefits such as medical insurance and allowances as per government rules.
Let us tell you that the registration for GDS recruitment in the Indian Postal Department ran from 15 July to 5 August 2024. The application correction window was open from 6 to 8 August 2024. For this recruitment, candidates must have passed class 10 (matriculation) examination from a recognized board. The minimum age to apply should be 18 years and the maximum age should be 40 years. Age relaxation is given to candidates falling in the reserved category. However, the age limit may vary post wise.
