Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day visit to Poland. This is the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Poland in the last 45 years. PM Modi addressed a joint press conference with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Thursday. During this, Modi mentioned the old relationship between India and Poland. He thanked Poland for evacuating Indian students trapped during the war between Ukraine and Russia. The Indian Prime Minister expressed deep concern about the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and West Asia.

PM Modi said, ‘You have been a good friend of India for a long time. You have contributed a lot in strengthening the friendship between India and Poland. Today is a special day in the relations between India and Poland. Today, after 45 years, an Indian Prime Minister has visited Poland. I have got this privilege at the beginning of my third term. On this occasion, I express my special gratitude to the Government of Poland and the people here. We Indians can never forget the generosity you showed in evacuating the stranded Indian students during the Ukraine crisis in 2022.’

‘We are celebrating the 70th anniversary of our diplomatic relations’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘This year we are celebrating the 70th anniversary of our diplomatic relations. On this occasion, we have decided to transform the relations into a strategic partnership. Relations between India and Poland are based on shared values ​​like democracy and rule of law.’

‘The ongoing conflict in Ukraine and West Asia is a matter of deep concern’
Modi said, ‘The ongoing conflict in Ukraine and West Asia is a matter of deep concern for all of us. India firmly believes that no problem can be solved on the battlefield.’ He said, the loss of innocent lives in any crisis has become the biggest challenge for the entire humanity. We support dialogue and diplomacy for the early restoration of peace and stability. For this, India is ready to provide all possible cooperation along with its friendly countries.

The Indian Prime Minister said, India and Poland have been moving forward in close coordination on the international platform as well. We both agree that reform in the United Nations and other international institutions is the need of the hour to face global challenges. We invite Polish companies to join ‘Make in India’. The PM said, India has achieved many achievements in areas like fintech, pharma, space. We would be happy to share our experience in these areas with Poland.
