Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development Tokan Sahu attended the “TV9 Building New India Summit”. To address these challenges, Prime Minister Modi has launched many important missions since 2014 such as Swachh Bharat Mission, AMRUT Mission, Smart Cities Mission and Pandit Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana Mission.
Swachh Bharat Mission
The minister said the government continues to develop the city through plans. Take India’s elimination of open defecation under the Swachh Bharat Mission, for example. This is a major change. He said the plan was successful in the form of a mass movement. Through this campaign, thousands of people have stopped defecation and India has become an open defecation free country.
The minister claimed that due to the Swachh Bharat Mission, the lives of 60-70,000 children, who had earlier died due to dirt and health-related issues, have been saved. This mission brings positive change to our cities, villages, schools and colleges.

The government has completed 56 projects at a cost of Rs 1,087 crore and initiated 430 projects under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme. The smart city mission has invested Rs 14,305 crore and is expected to be completed by 2017. 2025. The goal has been achieved. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has provided over Rs 4 crore of housing and Rs 3 crore of new housing is currently being constructed which will be provided to people in rural and urban areas.
