In the first match of the four-match T20 series, South Africa faced India at home and suffered a humiliating defeat by 61 runs. Klassen will complete 100 sixes in T20 matches in 2024
Heinrich Klaasen scored 25 runs in a 22-ball innings in the first T20 of the series against India, but he managed only six runs. With this, Klassen also completed 100 sixes in T20 matches in 2024. Klassen has now become the fourth player in world cricket and the first South African player to hit 100 or more sixes in a calendar year in T20 cricket. Before Klaassen, the feat was accomplished by Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell and Chris Gayle. While Pooran has accomplished the feat with the bat this year, Russell hit over 100 sixes in 2019. And Chris Gayle has accomplished this feat 6 times. Talking about Klassen, he has been strong with the bat this year and he hit a total of 38 sixes while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2024 IPL season.
