A total of 17 wickets fell on the first day of the Perth Test match between India and Australia, but only 3 wickets fell on the second day of play. Everyone seems to be praising the way India turned the tables in this match with both ball and bat. On the other hand, the Australian team only defeated the Indian team by 150 runs in the first game. After the second day’s game, the players’ faces were obviously disappointed. The biggest reason was the outstanding performance of the Indian team. India’s first pair scored 150 runs in the second innings and by the end of the day, the duo had scored 172 runs without any loss. After the game that day, Australian team head coach Andrew McDonald made such remarks about the stadium, which shows the team’s disappointment.
India batting better as pitch dries out faster
Responding to a question about his team’s performance at a press conference after the second day of the Perth Test, Australia head coach Andrew McDonald said the pitch looked very dry today, or that it was drying very quickly. We thought the new ball might have more swing, but it didn’t happen. So I guess if you want to say we were a little surprised, then yeah, we were because the seams didn’t move or wiggle as much as we expected after the first day of play.
There’s no doubt we’re behind the game now
Andrew McDonald further said in the statement, “There is no doubt that we are behind in this game now, but the game has its ups and downs and we will bounce back soon.” There are about 20 overs left before the new ball arrives and before then we will try to take a wicket or two so that we can make better use of the new ball. This is a big series and both teams are going to make mistakes. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal both played well.
