IND and OFF: Indian bowlers started the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in brilliant fashion. In the first Test match in Perth, the Indian bowlers simply did not allow the Australian batsmen freedom. In the end, India achieved a historic victory by 295 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the 5-match series. However, the Indian bowlers were unable to maintain the rhythm in Adelaide, resulting in a humiliating defeat by 10 wickets. In this way, the Australian team successfully came back in the series. The series is currently tied at 1-1 and both teams have a good chance to take the lead through the third Test match.
The third Test match between India and Australia will be played at the Gabba in Brisbane. In this match, all eyes will be on the fast bowlers as the Gabba is known for its huge bounce and pace. Meanwhile, the Indian bowlers got good advice from Australia’s legendary cricketer. This veteran cricketer tells Indian bowlers how to dismiss Australian batsmen?
India gets support from Hayden
Former Australia opener Matthew Hayden has advised Indian bowlers to target the fourth and fifth stump lines and use the natural bounce offered by the Gabba to bowl out the Australian batsmen in the third Test. Hayden told Star Sports that whenever India get a chance to bowl, they will have to rely more on the fourth and fifth stump lines. Most importantly, they need to take advantage of their bounce.
Hayden said this was an important thing for Brisbane’s fast bowling unit. The red ball is definitely more familiar in Test cricket. Australia has a knack for playing pink ball and they have won many games with it. He further said that India should have played better at the Gabba and they should have batted for the longest time. He should bat one day in Test cricket. Less than a day is not acceptable. 350 points should be remembered. Even if the conditions are challenging, India should bat first.
