The Indian cricket team is on a tour of Australia and is preparing for the first Test match in Perth. The Test series between India and Australia will begin on November 22 with a total of 5 matches. The first match of the series will be played on a fast and energetic pitch at the Perth Stadium, where the Indian team has sweated it out. However, the Indian team has faced huge difficulties since arriving in Australia.
In fact, on Thursday, November 14, during India’s practice match at WACA, India’s middle-order batsman Sarfaraz Khan injured his elbow while batting. In the video posted by ‘Fox Cricket’, Sarfaraz can be seen holding his right hand as he walks out of the nets. He looked a little uncomfortable during this time. However, it is learned that the injury is not serious and the batsman does not require an MRI.
Sarfaraz injured
Sarfaraz is available for the first Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test in Perth as India skipper Rohit Sharma’s availability for the first Test is in doubt. Rohit is still awaiting the birth of his second child in Mumbai. If Rohit is unable to play the first game of the series, Lokesh Rahul may be asked to open the batting alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, which would create a spot for Sarfaraz in the middle order.
KL raises tensions for Team India
However, like Sarfaraz, KL Rahul is also facing injuries ahead of the Perth Test match. KL Rahul sustained an injury during training at Perthwarka on Friday morning. Ahead of the first game of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia, KL injured his right elbow during a mid-wicket simulation. This heightened tensions in India. It is worth noting that the Indian team was previously scheduled to play an intra-squad match against Ruturaj Gaikwad-captained India A in Perth, but the match was cancelled. Following this, the Indian team decided to practice mid-wicket simulation in Perth.
