Another miracle for Bumrah in 2024
Jasprit Bumrah is in stunning form this year. He has made the Indian team win a lot of games in 2024. Meanwhile, he has taken 50 wickets in Test cricket this year. He is the first bowler to do so in Test cricket this year. No other bowler has touched the 50-wicket figure in 2024 so far. Bumrah achieved this feat by dismissing Usman Khawaja. Usman scored only 13 runs in this match against India.
This happened 22 years later
Few fast bowlers can take 50 wickets for India in a year. Bumrah is the third bowler to do so. Before him, only Kapil Dev and Zaheer Khan had achieved this. Zaheer Khan last took 51 wickets in Test cricket in 2002. This means that, 22 years later, an Indian fast bowler has done just that. Kapil Dev did it for the first time in 1979. This year he took 74 wickets in Test cricket. Bumrah will also play two more Test matches this year. He could be at the top of this list, too.
