On the second day of postal voting, voting continued today at Zainapora AC and Shopian AC Voter Facilitation Centres in GDC Shopian and the Postal Voting Centre at Shopian Mini Secretariat, enabling the election duty staff and essential services workers to cast their votes in a very conducive and enabling environment.
As per ECI guidelines, Shopian district election officials provided voting facilities to staff on election duty and essential service workers to cast their votes at the Voter Facilitation Centres (VFCs) and Postal Voting Centres (PVCs) set up in AC-Shopian and Zainapora respectively. A total of 375 voters from voting parties, drivers, transport conductors, micro-observers, media etc. participated in the polls so far, while a total of 179 essential service workers belonging to police, health, water education, transport, fire and emergency services, municipal councils participated in the polls.
The voting will continue till tomorrow at these centres under strict surveillance of observers, DEOs and ROs with proper video recording of the events.
