CBI has registered an FIR against a gang in Rajasthan that allegedly made fake Aadhaar cards using forged documents and fingerprints for Rs 25,000. Officials said a case has been registered against three people. Officials said that preliminary investigation into this large-scale racket has revealed that along with fingerprints and retina scans of school children, toe prints have also been used to make fake Aadhaar cards.

Fraud is going on in many districts

Officials said the matter came to light following a news report in which a police complaint was lodged by Manohar Lal, a programmer from the Information Technology and Communications Department in Sanchore. He said that cases of fake Aadhar cards have been reported in various districts of Rajasthan. Officials said that Sanchore is 150 km from the India-Pakistan border. Within three days of this complaint, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology demanded a CBI inquiry into the matter.

State government recommended CBI investigation

He said that the Rajasthan government had transferred the case to the Central Investigation Agency on July 9, which was sent to the CBI by the Department of Personnel and Training on July 30. Later, the CBI registered an FIR against three people – Ganpat Singh, Togaram and Kanhaiya Lal. They said that according to the complainant, these three people were allegedly making Aadhaar cards from his e-Mitra ID and Aadhaar ID.

Let us tell you that the state government has decided to get all the e-Mitras and Aadhaar centers of the state investigated. Under this, the annual report of Aadhaar machines will also be tested. It has been made mandatory for e-Mitra operators to post information about the amount of free services and paid services outside the centre. The issue of fake Aadhaar cards is also a cause for concern because incidents of infiltration have been coming to light from the border areas. It is suspected that the roots of this fraud may not have spread to the enemies of the country. Earlier in Aaj Tak’s sting, a fake Aadhaar card racket was busted in Jaipur.
