A case was also registered against two minor students who were found in possession of the banned substances.

According to sources, the students came out after dinner at a hotel to smoke marijuana and bidis and asked for matches to light them. A senior tax official said, “They saw the back of the tax office and reached there. When they suddenly saw the officials, they sensed danger and ran out. But everyone was caught. When we investigated At that time, prohibited substances were discovered.”

A case has been registered against two students after cannabis and other substances were seized under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Other students were sent back along with their teachers, the official said. But in the case of these two students, their parents were called and they were sent. According to officials, substance abuse during school and college visits is widespread in the state.
