The State of Dominica has announced that it will award the Dominican Honor Award, the country’s highest award, to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The award will be presented to Prime Minister Modi during the Indo-Caribbean Community Summit in Georgetown, Guyana, from November 19 to 21. Dominican Confederation President Sylvanie Burton will pay tribute to him.
This honor reflects Dominica’s contribution during the COVID-19 pandemic and the strong partnership with the Government of India. The award recognizes India’s commitment to Dominica in health, education and Information technology support. .
PM Modi is our true well-wisher – Dominican Republic
The Dominican government said Prime Minister Modi is our true well-wisher. During the COVID-19 period in February 2021, Prime Minister Modi provided 70,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine to Dominica. During a serious health crisis, he provided support in our time of need. Our government appreciates this.
Cooperation in health, education, climate change and other fields
The Dominican Federation said that in addition to health and education, the Modi government in India has also expressed serious concerns about global climate change and has taken remedial measures.
