Imran announces ‘breaking the shackles of slavery’, Pakistan stirs storm; security at every corner in Islamabad

Islamabad: The “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf” (PTI) led by former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has once again sounded the clarion call for a major movement in the country. This caused a stir in Pakistan. Imran Khan’s message is that he will no longer tolerate the shackles of slavery and will eradicate it. Therefore, the government on Sunday made strict security arrangements in view of the proposed demonstrations in Islamabad.

Imran Khan called on the public to unite to “break the shackles of slavery”. Pakistan’s government on Saturday closed highways to the capital, partially suspended internet and mobile services and halted public transport to stem Sunday’s protests by PTI in Islamabad, and blocked key roads by erecting shipping containers. At the same time, a large number of security forces were deployed. ,

PTI intends to protest

The PTI leadership unanimously decided that the protest will be held as planned on Sunday and will not be postponed or canceled until the objectives are achieved. According to Geo News, PTI leaders held a high-level meeting at the residence of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, where the protest strategy was finalized. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur reportedly said that he will arrive in Swabi at 3 pm to inspect the preparations for the proposed protest and lead the party towards Islamabad procession.

Chief Minister of Punjab Province announced

The chief minister also directed party workers willing to take part in the procession to reach Swabi by 3 pm. PTI will stage its second protest in two months. Ignoring the government’s calls to postpone the protest, the party announced it was heading to Islamabad. At the same time, authorities issued warnings about the possible dangers of the demonstrations. Imran Khan’s party last week announced a long march to Islamabad to meet its three demands. The party demands the release of jailed Khan and other leaders, recognition of PTI’s victory in the February 8 elections and the abrogation of the 26th Constitutional Amendment. The 26th Amendment to the Constitution changed the appointment process for judges and the Chief Justice.

Pakistan Terrorist Palace Warning

According to Pakistani news channel “Express News TV”, the National Counter Terrorism Agency (NACTA) has issued a security alert warning of a possible terrorist attack during the PTI demonstration in Islamabad. It warned that public meetings of the PTI could become targets for terrorists. Article 144 came into effect in Islamabad from November 18, according to which people cannot gather. On the other hand, the Punjab government has also implemented Section 144 in the entire province from November 23 to 25, banning protests, public gatherings, rallies and dharnas. Despite tight security and restrictions, PTI persisted in protesting against its demands. (language)
