UP ATS has arrested the main accused and telephone exchange operator Ashraf Ali. Ashraf Ali was running an illegal telephone exchange in his house in Dullipur of Baksa police station area of Jaunpur.

The arrested accused Ashraf Ali lived in Mumbai from 1997 to 2012. During this time he had a conversation with Mohammad Ali of Dubai. It was through Mohammad Ali that Ashraf Ali started the SIM box business. Mohammad Ali had sent the SIM box to Ashraf Ali through courier from Dubai.
Used to make international calls at cheap rates
Mohammad Ali used to send the money received for making cheap international calls, especially to Gulf countries, from Dubai to the bank accounts of Ashraf Ali. Cash was also being sent through Hawala. Ashraf Ali was earning around Rs 1 lakh in a month. 1 SIM box, 1 router and 64 free activated SIMs sent from Dubai were recovered from Ashraf Ali.
