A gang of illegal sand miners allegedly tried to run over a tractor belonging to a trainee IAS officer, Joint Magistrate of Sadar Tehsil, Moradabad, when the officer and His team tried to stop illegal mining in Bhojpur under police midnight restrictions.
A police team accompanying the administration officials later seized two tractor-trolleys and a heavy-duty bulldozer from the spot.
A manhunt was also launched to nab the assailants after eight unidentified persons were booked at the Bhojpur police station for attacking government servants and obstructing them from discharging their duties.
