If you too are tempted by street food, then you should be careful. The problem is not the street food but the mayonnaise used in it to enhance the taste. More than 100 people have fallen ill in Hyderabad due to this mayonnaise. Many of these people suffered life-threatening injuries and all were hospitalized. After investigation, it was found that the street food eaten by these people was poisonous. Further investigation revealed that the street food was contaminated by mayonnaise added to it.
Doctors also explained why this mayonnaise is poisonous. Mayonnaise, he said, is made from a mixture of Dijon mustard, white pepper, oil and salt, as well as egg yolks, vinegar or lemon. If this mixture is consumed immediately, then there is no problem, but if it is kept for some time, harmful bacteria can develop due to the chemical reactions that occur in it. Once people eat mayonnaise containing these bacteria, they will immediately develop symptoms of food poisoning, including vomiting and diarrhea.
Mayonnaise for raw food
According to doctors, in the vernacular, mayonnaise has been classified as raw food. It means making and eating. It is not suitable to store this type of mixture. Padmanabha Reddy of the Good Governance Forum said that considering the situation, there is a need to fix the system errors in GHMC. In fact, every street food vendor prepares a lot of mayonnaise at once and sells it continuously for a long time. Let us tell you that Reshma Begum who lived in Zindakunta Colony in Hyderabad passed away recently. He had steamed buns in Nandingarh in Banjara Hills.
Food poisoning caused by mayonnaise
Likewise, more than 50 people in his colony fell ill and were taken to hospital. All these people got sick after eating street food. Earlier, more than 20 people fell ill after eating shawarma at a barbecue restaurant in Lothkunta, Alwar police station area. Food poisoning has been found to be the cause of their illness. Food experts say the problem isn’t the shawarma or steamed buns, but the sauces, chutneys and mayonnaise that are served with them. In fact, mayonnaise is mostly used as chutney in kebabs, pizzas, burgers, biryani, sandwiches and other foods.
