Information has come to light that Vinesh Phogat’s uncle and Dronacharya awardee Mahavir Phogat is unhappy with this. He is angry that Vinesh Phogat has decided to leave wrestling and enter politics.
Mahavir Phogat said, “Vinesh Phogat should not have joined politics now, I do not consider it appropriate. Vinesh Phogat should have participated in the 2028 Olympics now, that would have been important for her.”

Mahavir Phogat further said that if Vinesh had joined politics after winning gold in 2028, she would have been called a medalist. I don’t know how much good she will be able to do for the players by joining politics. Daughter Babita Phogat decided to join politics in 2019 due to a knee injury.
On the question of Vinesh Phogat becoming the Sports Minister if the Congress government comes to power, Mahavir Phogat said, “If she becomes the Sports Minister and does some good to the players, then it is a good thing.”

Vinesh Phogat is contesting from Julana assembly seat in Haryana. After this, Vinesh started the campaign for Julana assembly elections from her husband’s native village Bakta Kheda. During this, Vinesh also did a road show. After joining the party, Vinesh Phogat had said that BJP was supporting Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, while Congress supported the wrestlers during this time.
She had said that I thank the people of the country and the media, you supported me during my wrestling journey. I thank the Congress party, tough times tell you who is with you. When we were dragged on the streets, all parties stood with us except the BJP. I am starting a new innings, I want that the players do not have to endure all that we had to go through. She said that we will not be afraid and will not back down. Our court case is going on, we will win that too.
