Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi filed her nomination from Wayanad in Kerala on Wednesday. He conducted road shows and spoke at public meetings before submitting his nomination. During this time, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, was also present. Rahul said if Priyanka wins, Wayanad will have two MPs. I will be the unofficial MP of the people of Wayanad.

Rahul Gandhi said that once his sister wins, the people of Wayanad will have two MPs, including her, representing them in the Assembly. Rahul said I will be the unofficial MP of the people of Wayanad. Priyanka will contest against LDF candidate Satyan Mokeri and the BJP’s Navya Haridas.

Like Wayanad, Rahul Gandhi was also elected from Rai Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh in this Lok Sabha election. He later decided to vacate the Wayanad seat. Therefore, the by-election is held here. Voting will be held in Wayanad on November 13 and counting of votes will take place on November 23.

Priyanka makes her first campaign appearance

Priyanka Gandhi started her election campaign by filing party nomination from the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat. This time, she said that she has 35 years of political experience. In 1989, at the age of 17, she ran for the first time with her father Rajiv Gandhi.

Addressing a large rally in Kalpetta before filing her nomination for the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-election, she said she has been with her mother Soni for 35 years since she campaigned with her father Rajiv Gandhi in 1989 Gandhi campaigned for his brother Rahul Gandhi and other party colleagues.

Priyanka Gandhi was speaking in the presence of Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Haq, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and other senior party leaders arrived in Taiwan.
