On Wednesday, in Sangam city Prayagraj, some miscreants had threatened the owner of a coaching centre and demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore. Now the owner of the coaching centre has lodged an FIR in the city’s Georgetown police station against four named and 15 to 20 unknown people for demanding a ransom of Rs 1 crore.

The matter is of Exampur Coaching in Tagore Town where preparation is done for many exams apart from UPSI and SSC. The coaching operator has also demanded justice from the UP government in this matter.

If my death changes the system, I will accept it: Coaching director

Earlier, coaching operator Vivek had written on social media platform X regarding threats and extortion, ‘My life is in danger, tomorrow they are planning to attack me and my institute again, if this system will improve only by my death, then I accept it with a smile.’ He had appealed to the UP CM for protection.

Extortion demanded from the director of Exampur Coaching

According to Vivek, the coach’s director, some people had come earlier on September 4 and demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh. He took it lightly at that time and dismissed it as a joke. However, after this, on September 10, more than two dozen people came together and entered the coach while abusing, due to which the students and staff present there got scared.

It is alleged that he was asked to pay a ransom of Rs 1 crore and was threatened to burn down the coaching centre if he did not pay. He informed the police about this but everyone was misbehaving even in front of the policemen. The police have now registered a case in this matter and are searching for the accused.

Police started investigating the case

Vivek Kumar, a coaching operator in Prayagraj, while talking to our associate channel UP Tak in the case of extortion, said that an FIR has been registered but he is still afraid.

He said, I thought of working in UP because I felt there is security here now but in such a situation how can anyone come and do business here. The police said that identification is being done on the basis of CCTV. The coaching operator said that due to the threat, students are also coming less due to fear.
