Indian-origin American MP Raja Krishnamurthy says that he feels very proud that Kamala Harris has been chosen as the presidential candidate from the Democratic Party.

Democratic MP from Illinois Krishnamurthy (51) had named the group of Indian-origin MPs in America as Samosa Caucus. In a special conversation with Aaj Tak, he said that he is very proud of Kamala Harris. But there is still a long way to go to win the election.

When asked what are the main issues in this election on which the election is being fought, he replied that people are going to vote on issues like border dispute, inflation, employment and security. But along with this we also have to break the notion that Democrats are not as strong as Trump is. This notion needs to be ended.

We still have a long way to go to win this election. We have to solve all the issues that are important for the people. Krishnamurthy said that China wants to see Donald Trump win the presidential election to be held in November this year.

China is a global challenge

Raja Krishnamurthy has called China’s growing dominance a threat to the world. He said that there is no doubt that China is a challenge not only for its neighbouring countries but also on a global level. It is maintaining an aggressive stance on all fronts, from economic to defence.

Will relations with India be affected if Trump becomes president?

Krishnamurthy said that Donald Trump being elected as the President can have an impact on India-US relations. Whereas during Kamala Harris’ tenure, the relations between the two countries will become stronger. He said that in such a situation, Kamala Harris will have to be voted for. She is working very hard and will definitely take the country forward.

Raja Krishnamurthy had coined the term Samosa Caucus

In America, Indian-origin MPs are considered the Samosa Caucus. Currently, this caucus has seven members. Krishnamurthy says that Kamala Harris is an important member of the Samosa Caucus.

The term ‘Samosa Caucus’ is much discussed in American politics. It was discussed in 2016 when for the first time 5 Indian-origin MPs were elected to the US Parliament, which included Indian-origin American leader and House of Representatives member Raja Krishnamurthy. He coined the term ‘Samosa Caucus’. It was called a group of Indian-origin MPs and representatives inside the Parliament. Currently, there are seven members in this group.
