Nikita’s statement comes out for the first time.
Wife Nikita Singhania, mother-in-law Nisha and Anurag, who are accused in the suicide case of artificial intelligence engineer Atul Subhash, are currently lodged in Bengaluru jail. On December 14, the Bengaluru police produced him in court. All three have been detained in judicial custody for 15 days. Meanwhile, the statement given by Nikita Singhania to the Bengaluru police has also come to light.
Nikita told Bengaluru police – I or my family never tortured Atul Subhash. I didn’t ask him for money either. If I wanted money, I would have stayed with Atul and continued to extort money from him. I have been separated from him for the past three years. Earlier, she lived in her mother’s house (Jaunpur). Then came Delhi. I work by myself. Why should I ask Atul for money?
Nikita further said – Artur used to torture me for dowry. Hit me once. Fed up with this, I came to my parents’ house three years ago. There was never a direct conversation between me and him. We used to only talk through lawyers.

This is the suicide case of Atul Subhas
Atul Subhash, an artificial intelligence software engineer living in Samastipur, Bihar, committed suicide on December 9. The case has repeatedly made national headlines. Before embracing death, Atul left a 24-page suicide note and made a one-hour video and shared it on social media. Here, Atul identified five people as responsible for his death. Said: My wife, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, and father-in-law constantly torture me for money. A total of 9 false cases were filed against me.
“Don’t even let me talk to my son”
Atul said: My wife left me and went to her parents’ house. He also took his son Viom with him. For three and a half years I had longed to see my son. I wasn’t even allowed to see his face. He was also never asked to speak. I had even forgotten what my son would be like. Whenever I see an old photo, I think of her face. My wife turned my son into a tool to extort money from me. My mother-in-law and brother-in-law borrowed 1.6 million rupees from me. Then he demanded another 50 lakh rupees. When I refused to give them more money, these people started playing dirty games on me.
Maintenance requirement 80,000 rupees
In the video, Atul said: Someone made a demand of Rs 1 crore in front of me. Then he asked his son for monthly living expenses of 40,000 rupees. I used to pay alimony to my son. But later this amount was increased to Rs 80,000. My own salary is not that much. Where did I get so much money? Still, he was not satisfied, so he started asking me for Rs 3 crore. When I said in court that people who give so much money would kill themselves. To which my wife said you should kill yourself too. Judge Sahiba did not say anything to his wife about this. Instead, she started laughing. Instead, she started telling me, you give me 5 lakh rupees and I can settle the case. Judge Sahiba Rita Kaushik also tortured me a lot for money.
Arrested on December 14
Atul then committed suicide. On December 10, based on a complaint by Atul’s brother Vikas Modi, the Bengaluru police registered a case against Nikita Singhania, Nisha, Anurag and Sushil. Four days after the case was filed, 14 police officers successfully filed the case. Nikita was arrested in Gurgaon. Atul’s mother-in-law Nisha and brother-in-law Anurag were arrested from Prayagraj. All three were produced before a Prayagraj court and taken into judicial custody.
Allahabad High Court Judgment
Meanwhile, after absconding, all four accused, including Nikita, have approached the Allahabad High Court with bail applications. The Allahabad High Court on Monday delivered its verdict on the petition filed by the four accused. All four defendants were granted bail. But only one in four will benefit. Because my wife, mother-in-law, and brother-in-law have all been arrested. In this case, this sense of security is no longer of any use to them. Now only Sushil Singhania, Atul’s wife’s uncle, can find relief. This means police are currently unable to arrest him.
