The International Cricket Council has banned the National Cricket League. In a letter to US Cricket, the International Cricket Federation flagged instances of non-compliance with the rules surrounding the XI. These include using 6-7 foreign players in 11 games and violating sanction rules known to NCL officials before the game. According to Cricbuzz, the ICC has decided not to sanction all future seasons.
Plug-in courts used
According to the rules, there should be at least 7 American players among the 11 players participating in the game, but the fact is exactly the opposite. During the game, 6-7 foreign players took the field. In addition to this, drop pitches were used during the National Cricket League to very poor effect. Players like Wahab Riaz and Tymal Mills have to bowl on these pitches. This way their balls don’t cause injury or harm to the batsmen.
Breach of immigration rules
Cricbuzz reports that immigration rules were also breached within the league. Most foreign players do not hold valid sports visas to compete. The cost of a U.S. sports visa is at least $200,000. This is done to save money. There are many foreigners living in the United States who love cricket. Thus the United States became the hub of T20 and T10 leagues.
Wasim Akram becomes Broad Ambassador
The National Cricket League appoints legendary players like Wasim Akram and Vivian Richards as its wide range of ambassadors. The company created a stir by adding Sachin Tendulkar and Sunil Gavaskar to its ownership group. Despite the presence of star players, the league’s inefficiencies haven’t had any impact.
Chicago Cricket Club won the final
The National Cricket League began on October 4, with the final between the Chicago Cricket Club and the Atlanta Kings, with Chicago winning by 43 runs. India’s Robin Uthappa has played for this team. A total of 6 teams participated in this T-10 competition.
