Preparations for the presidential election in the USA are in full swing. Former President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that he will not participate in any further debate with Vice President Kamala Harris before the November 5 election. In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump asserted, “Harris’ request for another debate indicates that she has lost her debate on Tuesday and now she wants a second chance to improve her position.”

Trump wrote in his post that the polling surveys clearly show that I have won the debate against the Democrats’ radical leftist candidate Comrade Kamala Harris on Tuesday night and he immediately asked for a second debate. Now there will be no third debate. Referring to his previous contests, Trump said that the first debate was held against President Joe Biden in June, followed by a debate with Kamala Harris on Tuesday.

Donald Trump cited anonymous surveys suggesting his victory, while surveys conducted by mainstream media outlets tell a different story. A CNN survey found that 63 per cent of viewers believed Harris won, while 37 per cent favoured Trump. Similarly, a YouGov survey indicated that 43 per cent thought Harris had performed better than Trump, 28 per cent supported the former president and 30 per cent chose the middle ground.

Harris raised $47 million in funding

Kamala Harris took advantage of the post-debate atmosphere to claim that she had raised 47 million US dollars within 24 hours of Tuesday’s debate. This is Harris’s strongest fundraising performance since announcing her candidacy.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s fellow candidate JD Vance is scheduled to debate Democratic vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz in New York on October 1.
