In Bengal, a drunk man misbehaved with a female doctor. After receiving the complaint in this matter, the police arrested the accused. Police say that the accused had threatened to treat the female doctor like a trainee doctor in a government hospital in Kolkata.
West Bengal Police on Sunday arrested a civilian volunteer for threatening a woman doctor at a government hospital in Purba Bardhaman district. The accused arrested by the police has been identified as Sushant Roy. The female doctor had complained about this matter to the police.
In the complaint, the female doctor said that during night duty at Bhatar State General Hospital, the accused Sushant Roy, who was in an inebriated state, misbehaved with her. He threatened that he would be given the same fate as the trainee doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College.

Let us tell you that a trainee female doctor was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Friday morning inside the seminar hall on the third floor of RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata. She was a second year PG student in the medical college itself. The post-mortem report revealed that the victim doctor was sexually assaulted and then murdered. Police said that the suspect was arrested after watching the CCTV footage.
According to sources, accused Sanjay Roy is a civic volunteer by profession. Such volunteers are contractual employees who assist policemen in their respective police units for traffic management. They assist the police during major festivals in the state and also at places where unauthorized parking of vehicles occurs. Such people work for the police.
Police said that the accused Bhatar had gone to the government hospital for treatment and he threatened the female doctor if there was delay in treatment. The woman accused the civic volunteer of threatening her. The accused said, ‘Do you know what happened in RG Kar Medical College? It can happen to you too’.
District Deputy Chief Medical Officer Dr. Suvarna Goswami said that the accused was a civic volunteer. Drunk civic volunteer Sushant Roy threatened a female doctor. Necessary steps should be taken for our safety. This matter should be investigated. A female doctor said that last night a man came to the hospital and threatened the medical officer. We have complained to the police and demanded action.
