The issue of atrocities against minority Hindus in Bangladesh and the arrest of a Hindu priest was raised in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. Bharatiya Janata Party MP Hema Malini and some other party members asked the central government to intervene for the safety of Hindus in the neighboring country and demanded a resolution in Parliament.
Mathura MP Hema Malini, who raised the issue on Zero Hour, said the attacks by extremists on Hindus in Bangladesh and on ISKCON and its followers were condemnable. Referring to the arrest of Hindu priest Chinmoy Krishna Das, he said the people of ISKCON are doing good things for humanity.
He said Chinmoy Krishna Das was peacefully protesting against atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh, but he was charged with treason and jailed. Two of his witnesses were also jailed.
Violence against religion will not be tolerated
Hema Malini said, I myself am a devotee of Krishna and a follower of ISKCON. I am a representative of Krishna’s holy city of Mathura. We will not tolerate the oppression of religion. This is not a matter of foreign policy, but of our emotions. He said the Bangladesh government should ensure the safety of Hindus.
Meanwhile, Dilip Sakhia, a BJP lawmaker from Assam, raised the issue of atrocities against Hindus in Bangladesh and asked the Indian Parliament to pass a resolution and send a message to the Bangladesh government to Take action to stop atrocities against Hindus. . Ruling party Anil Ferozia requested the Indian government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene in the matter.
