Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vinod Todd
Just a day before the Maharashtra Assembly elections go to polls, there is a political uproar. Vinod Todd, national general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has been accused of distributing money. Workers of Bahujan Vikas Aghadi accused Tawde of bringing Rs 5 crore and distributing the money. Thereafter, there was a political boil in Maharashtra politics. Now, Vinod Tad himself has clarified the allegations to the media.
Todd said a meeting of MLAs is being held in Narasopara. A model code of conduct has been developed. How to seal voting machines on polling day? If there is an objection, how to raise it? I went there and told them about it. Regarding the allegations regarding the distribution of money, Todd said if the Electoral Commission investigates, the truth will come out. I went there for a meeting with the workers.
What did Tad say about these accusations?
He said Hitendra Thakur and Kshitij Thakur of Bahujan Vikas Aghadi thought I was here to distribute money. The Electoral Commission and the police should investigate. This will reveal the truth. Check CCTV footage. I have been working in politics for the past 40 years. Hitendra Thakur and Kshitij Thakur know this. The Party knows me. Vinod Todd said the Election Commission should conduct an impartial investigation.
He also claimed to have received Rs 9 lakh in cash
Bundles of currency notes worth Rs 9 lakh were allegedly found in room number 404 of Vivant Hotel in Virar East Manvelpada. Photos of the bundle of money have now surfaced. The Election Commission also reacted to the three-and-a-half-hour siege of Vinod Todd.
