CM Mamata Banerjee has broken her silence on the Bengal bandh called by BJP and the student protests against the brutality that took place at RG Kar Hospital. She called this protest a conspiracy by BJP and said that I have also done student politics. I salute the Kolkata Police who protected Kolkata with so much patience. Attacking the BJP, Mamata said that no matter how many conspiracies BJP makes, it will not succeed. BJP will not win anywhere in India.

Mamata Banerjee said that BJP is pressurizing people by showing fear of agencies. It is spreading lies against me.

Mamata targets BJP

Mamata Banerjee said that I want to dedicate this day to the victim of RG Kar Hospital. She is our younger sister. This has happened in many states including UP, Manipur. We want to dedicate this day to those victims. Our demand is that the accused should be hanged. We want justice for this. But from what BJP is doing, it is clear that it does not want justice.

‘Call a bandh against Modi…’

Mamata Banerjee said that policemen were beaten up in the state. Vehicles were burnt, pressure was exerted by ED and other agencies. All this was carried out by BJP. BJP does not want justice. Mamata said that if you have to call a bandh, then call it against Modi. She said that I want to ask why BJP does not say anything about the crimes happening in UP, Assam, Rajasthan. In Assam, the accused was killed.

16 days have passed but…
Mamata said that we have not taken any action against the protesting doctors. But in Delhi they have filed an FIR against the doctors. I met the victim’s family on the 12th. I had asked for 5 days. But it was not given. The case is with the CBI. I want to ask that 16 days have passed but justice has not been given. I want to ask why the victim has not got justice till now.

Abhishek Banerjee also targeted

TMC leader and CM Mamata Banerjee’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee has also attacked the BJP. He has said that TMC will start another protest in Delhi. Addressing the BJP, he said, ‘Abhishek Banerjee said, ‘If the central government does not enact an anti-rape law within 3-4 months, then TMC will protest till Delhi.’ We have started it and we will end it.

Abhishek said that these people were doing politics even on the Sandeshkhali case. They were doing politics in the name of the woman. BJP remained silent on Unnao and Hathras. Bengal does not need to learn from BJP. So many crimes against women happen everywhere in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, does BJP not see anything?

‘Kolkata is safest for women’ Abhishek Banerjee said that according to NCRB data, Kolkata has been the safest city. According to NCRB, the highest number of crimes against women have taken place in Uttar Pradesh, followed by Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Maharashtra. Those who are demanding Mamata Banerjee’s resignation should first demand the resignation of all the Chief Ministers who are running double-engine governments.
