Former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has now condemned the incident of brutality and subsequent murder of a female trainee doctor in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. Speaking to the media during an event, Ganguly said that being the father of a daughter, he is deeply shocked by this incident.

According to the news agency, he said that West Bengal and India are considered safe and no decision should be given on the entire system on the basis of any one incident. Ganguly said, ‘This is a heinous incident, there can be no apology for such a crime. He said that the authorities should take immediate action.
He said that although such incidents can happen anywhere, it is unfortunate that such a despicable incident took place inside a hospital. The former cricketer has demanded that strong security arrangements be made in medical institutions.

The accused had watched porn before the rape
The police have arrested the accused in the case of rape and murder. The accused is an outsider who was a frequent visitor to the hospital premises. The police arrested him on Saturday after the incident. During interrogation, it was revealed that before making the female doctor a victim, he had watched a porn film and also drank alcohol.
Regarding this matter, Ganguly also said that it would not be right to criticize the entire system on the basis of any one incident. The former BCCI chief said that he believes that women are generally safe in West Bengal and India and such heinous crimes can happen anywhere in the world.
