In the world, cases of cheating are often seen in boyfriend-girlfriend or husband-wife relationships. In such a situation, the cheated person is often given the argument that there must be some flaw in you that he had to cheat. Cheated women especially hear this. However, this is a very wrong argument but in China, things are going one step ahead of this. Here, special camps have been opened for wives.

‘Sex appeal training camp’ in China

China is running ‘sex appeal training camps’ for middle-aged wives so that their husbands do not cheat on them. Last July, a group of women were invited to the eastern city of Hangzhou in Zhejiang province for a two-day program, in which each participant was charged 2,999 yuan (US$420 – about Rs 35 thousand).

‘Women come wearing black stockings’

A poster advertising the program said: ‘Sex appeal is a woman’s way of taking control of her life.’ This view is contrary to traditional Chinese beliefs, which consider sex a sensitive and private matter primarily for reproduction. According to the poster, women in this camp were forced to wear form-fitting cheongsams with black stockings.

Online sources revealed that most of the women who attended the event were between 35 and 55 years old. A 54-year-old woman who attended the event on the condition of anonymity said that she had started feeling for her son’s classmate and then she realized about his decreasing attraction towards her.

Many women arrived

Another was a housewife who was facing the possibility of divorce after discovering her husband’s infidelity. Apart from this, a single mother who came here told how her ex-husband had left her and also taken away their savings. She was attracted to the training camp after reading the poster. The poster read – Awaken passion in your marriage, revive your sex life.

They said the training helped them find their self-worth and encouraged them to believe that middle-aged women can be powerful and attractive. Chinese social media reported that the camp was organised by a company called Sex Appeal Academy. The female trainers claimed that they had hired therapists specialised in sex for the training.

‘Instead of correcting the wrong men…’

Here, another trainer named Alves has 120,000 followers on Douyin. However, no information was found about the Sex Appeal Academy or its trainers on the official China Sexology Association website. People on social media are opposing this camp and calling it an illegal business. Many people said – instead of correcting the wrong men, women are being corrected here. This is very wrong.
