How will a ‘unique army’ of mosquitoes work to eliminate dengue? know

To combat dengue, Singapore’s National Environment Agency is creating a unique army of mosquitoes in the lab. It has been named Project Wolbachia. In this, male Aedes aegypti mosquitoes carrying Wolbachia bacteria are being created. When these mosquitoes mate with female Aedes aegypti mosquitoes, the Wolbachia bacteria affects their reproductive capacity. That means these mosquitoes are not able to produce children.
