How to calculate the millions of people who come to Mahakumbh? The Yogi government will make these special arrangements

Mahakum Nagar: The Uttar Pradesh government is busy preparing for Mahakumbh 2025, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. In this series, cameras equipped with artificial intelligence will be installed to accurately count the number of devotees visiting the Mahakum Temple. A government statement said that so far, there is no accurate technology to count the number of devotees in the Prayagraj Kumbh Mela held every six years or the Kumbh Mela held every 12 years. However, this time, the Yogi Adityanath government has decided to take the help of special cameras equipped with artificial intelligence as well as many other types of technology so that every devotee who comes to Mahakumbh can be counted.

‘Special arrangements have been made to monitor people’

Let us tell you that the government has also arranged to track the devotees of Mahakum through these technologies. Giving information, Divisional Commissioner Vijay Vishwas Pant said that more than 400 million people are expected to attend Mahakumbh in 2025, which will be the highest so far. Pant said special arrangements have been made to count and monitor such a large number of people. He said that to monitor devotees, 744 temporary CCTV cameras were installed at 200 places in the chowk, while 1,107 permanent CCTV cameras were installed at 268 places in Prayagraj city.

“Counting large numbers of believers is a huge challenge”

Apart from this, 720 CCTV cameras have been installed in more than 100 parking spaces, the Divisional Commissioner said. Pant said that apart from the integrated command and control centre, i.e. ICCC and police line control rooms, observation centers have also been set up in Arail and Jhunsi areas from where efforts are being made to monitor the devotees. The Divisional Commissioner said that counting such a large number of devotees is a big challenge but the use of artificial intelligence will be very important in this regard. He told us, “The AI-equipped cameras will update data every minute to count the number of devotees heading to the Kumbh temple.” The entire focus will be on the devotees heading to the Ghat. The system will be fully operational from 2 a.m. to 7 p.m. (language)
