Omar Abdullah had to change his stance and become the chief minister. Otherwise, he is not even ready to contest the assembly elections. The Abdullah family’s stance on Jammu and Kashmir is evident from the way Omar Abdullah extended a hand of friendship to the BJP and Farooq Abdullah issued a statement on Pakistan Clearly something has changed.
However, there are still many things that need to change. This appears to be due to the strong reaction to Omar Abdullah’s statement regarding the Ganderbal terror attack. People did not like that Omar Abdullah did not use the word terrorist when describing the Ganderbal attackers.
On October 20, a terrorist attack occurred in Gaganjir, Jammu and Kashmir, killing seven people – Omar Abdullah condemned the incident on social networking sites
Why object to Omar Abdullah’s social media posts?
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted: “The cowardly attack on non-local laborers at Gaganjir in Sonamarg district is deeply saddening…these people were working on a project in the district … In this armed attack, two people were killed and 2-3 people were reportedly injured… I strongly condemn such attacks on unarmed innocent people and express my condolences to their loved ones.
Very sad news, a despicable and cowardly attack on non-local laborers took place in Garganjir, Sonamarg district. The men were working on a major infrastructure project in the area. In this armed attack, 2 people were killed and 2 to 3 others were injured. I strongly condemn this attack…

In response to Omar Abdullah’s post, user Nalini Ratnam asked the question: Do you still call him a militant instead of a terrorist? A user named Vipin Mishra wrote, Bro, don’t play double game with the central government and outsiders…it will be very costly.
Sumit Joshi, who claims to be a BJP worker, has a question: Who is providing help to terrorists? What is the benefit of having you as chief minister if people in your area are not safe?
R Srinivas VSM also wrote while advising Omar Abdullah that I hope the new chief minister will understand that history has given him a good opportunity to correct the past mistakes of his family. If they waste this opportunity and allow terrorism to spread, neither history nor the people of Jammu and Kashmir will ever forgive them.

Like Omar Abdullah, People’s Democratic Party leader Mehbooba Mufti also avoided using the word “terrorist” in connection with the attack. Mufti termed the Ganderbal incident as a senseless act of violence, unequivocally condemned it and expressed his deep condolences to the families of the victims.
Two quotes in particular come to my mind when Mehbooba Mufti was chief minister in the BJP coalition government. At one point, during a press conference with Union Minister Rajnath Singh, he told the masons that they would not accept any milk or bread either. As for the encounter with terrorist Burhan Wani, she has said she would not have allowed it to happen if she had known – and now everything she says appears to be her political compulsion.
But Farooq Abdullah appears to have made a complete U-turn. Farooq Abdullah, who used to say that Pakistan “…is not wearing any bracelets”, is now warning its neighbors in a stern tone.
He seems to be two steps ahead of his son Omar Abdullah on the Ganderbal incident, where they (terrorists) are from (Pakistan)… We want it to end… we should move forward… Difficulties abound. go ahead.
He said, I want to tell the rulers of Pakistan that if they want friendship with India, then all this must stop…Kashmir will not become Pakistan…it will not.
Farooq Abdullah then said while trying to remind Pakistan, please let us live with respect…let us progress…how long are we going to keep you in trouble? You started… killing innocent people in 1947… Pakistan has not been established for 75 years, will it be established now?
