The Election Commission has announced the election schedule for 12 Rajya Sabha seats in 9 states. These include two seats each in Assam, Bihar and Maharashtra, while elections will be held on one seat each in Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tripura, Telangana and Odisha. Regarding the matter, the Election Commission said that ‘Notification for Rajya Sabha elections will be issued on 14th August and the last date for filing nomination papers is 21st August’. ‘Voting will be held on September 3 in the respective state assemblies from 9 am to 4 pm, counting of votes will begin at 5 pm on the same evening and results will be declared by night.’
