2024-09-23 17:10:33 : Amazon is all set to host one of the most important festive sales of 2024 in India. Amazon’s Great Indian Festival sale will launch on September 27 for customers. However, Prime members can get early access to deals and discounts starting September 26, 2024, at midnight, as usual. The e-commerce giant is positioning itself as a one-stop solution for India’s festive shopping spree, offering deep discounts, exclusive product launches, easy financing options, bank offers, exchange bonuses and more.

However, this year’s promotion will be special for both the brand and its customers. The company has launched many interesting services to make the shopping experience simpler, more comprehensive and more comfortable. Gadgets360 had a chance to chat with Ranjit Babu, Director, Consumer Electronics, Amazon India, about the upcoming promotions, services offered by the brand, and more. Here’s what you need to know.

Easily upgrade across categories

Amazon is very focused on simplifying the upgrade process this time around. “We’re making it easy for customers to upgrade, and that applies to all categories,” Babu said. The brand is offering its customers the option of purchasing products with no-cost EMI, even if they do not have a credit card, through the Amazon Pay Later facility.

“Even if you don’t have a credit card or don’t want to use one, Amazon Pay Later is super easy to use. You go and enter a few details like your PAN number and within minutes or even seconds, you get an instant loan amount , you can use it to make purchases,” he added.

Ranjit Babu, director of consumer electronics at Amazon India, talks about how Amazon is making it easier for customers to upgrade.

Amazon is offering some incredible deals on smartphones during the Amazon Great Indian Day sale. An Amazon spokesperson told Gadgets360 that Indian consumers have extremely high interest in owning Apple devices. To help them upgrade, Amazon is offering iPhone 13 at prices as low as Rs 37,999, including banking benefits. Best of all, the phone can be purchased with a 12-month EMI option through Amazon PayLater, which is an attractive offer for customers who want to upgrade.

However, this is not the case. Even if you’re looking for a good Android device, Amazon has something to choose from. The company will be offering some great deals on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. “This Diwali, we are launching it at the lowest ever price, which is unbelievably low. The net price after discounts is Rs 69,999,” Babu further added.

Customers looking for a theater-like experience at home

There is a rush in buying smart TVs and home appliances during the holidays. “All electronics categories and upgrades are happening. Today, many customers are seeing the need for upgrades and we are making it very easy for them through swapping, EMI, installation, etc.,” Babu asserted.

Customers now want to upgrade to a theater-like experience at home. This is mainly because customers want to consume high-quality OTT content in the comfort of their homes. “So they want big screens, great display quality, surround sound and a full home theater experience. All of those things are much more affordable today than they’ve ever been. So that’s a big trend that we’re seeing, ” said Ranjit Babu.

What’s even more interesting is that customers are now choosing to have multiple smart TVs in their homes. “Today, customers are not just willing to upgrade to get a cinematic experience. They are willing to have multiple screens in their homes, which is common in other developed markets,” he added.

Babu believes that the smart TV field will have great appeal this time. First, demand for large-screen smart TVs will be high. During the promotion period, the 55-inch and Plus models are in huge demand. The brand noticed this trend during Prime Day, Independence Day and other major promotions.

To further enhance the experience, Amazon also offers Jio AirFiber connectivity with smart TV purchases. “If you buy any TV on Amazon this festive season and choose to pay just Rs 10 extra, you will get Jio Airoptic connectivity with absolutely no installation, plus some special offers and connectivity to over 700 channels available, “he said.

Phone setup service, delivery, installation and protection plans

Amazon has launched a series of services that take the experience to the next level. One of them is Amazon’s phone setup service. With this service, an Amazon representative will come to your home, provide a quick demonstration of your smartphone, help with data transfer, and walk you through the basics. “With the festival, we are expanding it to over 300 cities for the first time,” he further added.

Amazon is also expanding its scheduled installation and delivery services to more cities than ever before. “We’ve always had scheduled installations and deliveries, but this year, we’re expanding it to more cities. So when you purchase a device, you can schedule a delivery and installation date and time that’s convenient for you,” the spokesperson explained Tao,” he explained.

In addition, customers can choose a unified delivery and installation service, where a single team handles the delivery and installation of the product in one go. “One or two people will come to your home, deliver the product, install it and demonstrate it – all in one go. It makes the customer’s life so much easier,” he adds.

Additionally, Amazon offers discounts on extended warranties and protection plans for large appliances, which cover accidental damage or malfunctions.

Artificial intelligence and smartphones: still in the early stages

Ranjit Babu said the launch of AI-enabled smartphones in India has indeed attracted some customer attention. “Customers are very interested in AI capabilities, especially in high-end phones such as Samsung Galaxy and the new iPhone,” he observed.

However, he believes it is too early to understand the specific application of AI on smartphones. “We’ve seen some of that. Customers are interested in a lot of areas. So it does appear to be something that customers are considering when making purchasing decisions,” he said.
