US Tech-Billionaire Elon Musk said on Saturday he expected to see the entire freedom of trade between the United States and Europe in future, speaking in the days after US President Donald Trump’s announcement of tariffs on business partners.
A Trump advisor, who is working to eliminate useless American public expenses, Musk spoke through a video-link at a Congress in Florence of the right-wing, co-sattar, co-satisfied league party of Italy.
“At the end of the day, I hope that both Europe and the United States should ideally, in my view, in a zero tariff position, should build a free trade area between Europe and North America,” said Musk.
Under Trump’s plans on Wednesday, Italy, which has a large trade surplus with the United States, will be subject to a normal tariff of 20% with other European Union countries.
The interview by League leader Mateo Salvini, Musk, who has repeatedly expressed support for right-wing parties across Europe, said that they also expect more freedom of movement between Europe and the United States.
“If people want to work in Europe or work in North America, they should be allowed to do so in my view,” Musk said, saying that it is definitely my advice to the President. ,
Musk, who has been close to Italy’s right -wing Prime Minister Georgia Meloni and his brothers of the Italy party, has also expressed support for Salvini’s league.
Both groups have a hard-right agenda based on law-and-order, tax deduction and breakdown on irregular immigration.
Italian economy minister Giancarlo Giorgatti, who belongs to the league, said on Saturday that the government wanted “de-size” with the US after Trump’s tariff announcement, and warned against implementing a retaliatory tariff.
Last month, Musk thanked Salvini when the League chief said Italy should choose its starlink company to get a system for satellite communication.
