The case filed at the Chinhat police station in Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow over the death of Mohit Pandey in police custody has heated up. Meanwhile, CCTV footage of the Chinhat police station lock-up has also surfaced. It can be seen in the picture that when Mohit Pandey’s arms and legs began to twitch, the young man sitting next to him in the detention center was rubbing his back as he saw his deteriorating health. At the same time, a young man sitting at the door of the detention center handed over a bottle of water, and another man notified the female officer on guard.

The female police officer then informed the on-duty officer. However, what happened after that? Was Mohit taken to hospital immediately? But the family alleged that Mohit was beaten during the lockdown. He died because of it. Thereafter, when the family reached the police station, they were not even allowed to meet Mohit. However, the police later informed the family that Mohit had been admitted to Lohia Hospital. where he was pronounced dead.
The family was shocked to hear the news of Mohit’s death. Thereafter, a murder case was registered against three people including police station in-charge Ashwani Kumar Chaturvedi based on a complaint from Mohit’s mother Tapeshwari Devi.
Taken to the police station on Friday night
There was gross negligence in the police action in the death case of Mohit Pandey. According to sources, Mohit Pandey was taken to Chinhat police station at 10.56 pm on Friday. After leaving him at the police station overnight, police captured him at 1:05 p.m.
Allegations remain at police station without any paperwork
Sources said the police were preparing to arrest Mohit and his brother on suspicion of disturbing the peace and take them to court. Mohit and his brother were detained overnight at the Chinhat police station detention center without any formalities.

Police detained Mohit Pandey and his brother Shobharam on Friday following an altercation over a fight between children. While Mohit was being produced in court on Saturday, his health suddenly deteriorated and he was rushed to Lohia Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
