In Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, a husband and wife riding a bike died of electrocution after coming in contact with a high tension wire. Purvis reached the spot after receiving information and took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem. Police said that Dev Pal Singh (52) and his wife Meena Devi (52), residents of Dudhari village of Dataganj Kotwali area, were returning home by bike when the high tension wire fell on them.
Upazila Magistrate Sukhlal Verma said that the husband and wife were burnt to death after coming in contact with a high tension wire on Friday. The superintending engineer of the electricity department has been informed about this. The dilapidated high tension line broke due to extreme heat and overloading. A husband and wife riding a bike were hit by this and both died by burning alive.

Passersby made videos of the couple burning
Sukhlal Verma further said that during this time, passersby made videos of the burning couple, but no one tried to save them. The fire was brought under control after the police arrived. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem. At the same time, the couple’s family has been assured of government assistance.
Mother and son died due to electric shock
Let us tell you that two days ago also a woman and her son died due to electric shock in Dataganj area of Badaun. The accident happened when a high tension electric wire fell on the iron fence surrounding his house. First the woman got electrocuted, then the son who went to save her also got electrocuted.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dharmendra Kumar Singh said that Rajendra Devi (58) had accidentally touched the fence late on Tuesday night. When her son Umesh (37) came out to save her, he too got electrocuted along with his mother. Due to which both of them died.
