A lower court in Jaipur sentenced five people, including the mother-in-law and father-in-law, to life imprisonment for killing their son-in-law out of anger over their daughter’s love marriage. In the murder case, the daughter’s father Jeevan Ram, mother Bhagwani Devi, brother-in-law Bhagwana Ram, gunmen Vinod and Ramdev were found guilty and sentenced to life imprisonment. The court has acquitted two other defendants from the family, giving them the presumption of innocence.
