Haqq opposes Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar
The opposition has issued a no-confidence motion against Vice President and Chairman of the House of Federation, Jagdeep Dhankhar. The no-confidence motion caused an uproar in the upper house of parliament, which adjourned proceedings for the day. Reacting to the notification, Congress president Mallikarjun Haq leveled serious allegations against the chairman and said he has become the government spokesperson.
Malikajun Haq also claimed at a joint press conference with the leaders of the opposition alliance parties on Wednesday that the biggest reason for the deadlock in the Federal House was Vice President Dhankhar himself. On Tuesday, the Union of India submitted a notice to move a no-confidence motion to remove Dhankar from the post of Vice President.
What did Hager say after the announcement?
- We are very tired of the behavior and partisan attitude of the President of the Bundestag. That’s why we issued a notice to remove it.
- We have no complaints against the President of the House of Federation, but he has left us no choice but to issue a recall notice.
- The behavior of the President of the Federal Council damaged the dignity of the country.
- The biggest reason for the interruption of the Bundestag’s proceedings is the president himself. He is serving as government spokesman.
- Rajya Sabha Chairman Dhankhar works like a school principal.
- The president berated experienced opposition leaders, constantly preventing them from speaking.
- His conduct was contrary to the dignity of his position. The president continually targeted opposition leaders while praising the government.
- Politics in the Federal Chamber have gone beyond rules. The Speaker’s performance on the House floor was partisan.
- Since 1952, no proposals have been brought to the House of Representatives under Section 67 because the Vice President has never entered politics.
- The notice of dismissal of the President of the House of Federation has nothing to do with personal complaints or political struggles.
