Heavy rain in Delhi-NCR, roads and underpasses all submerged, traffic jam at many places

Delhi-NCR Rains Update: Heavy rains have been continuing in Delhi-NCR since late night. Waterlogging is being seen on roads in most areas of NCR including Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad, Greater Noida. Pictures of heavy waterlogging are coming from many areas of Delhi-NCR. Due to which traffic jams are occurring due to slow speed of vehicles on the roads.

Heavy rain warning till August 31

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), a low pressure area is forming in the Bay of Bengal. Due to which, heavy rains are expected in most states including Delhi, Bihar, UP, Gujarat, Himachal and Uttarakhand today, August 29. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rain till August 31.

Many places are jammed due to waterlogging
Due to waterlogging, working people are facing the most problems in the evening. There is heavy waterlogging on the roads from Mehrauli to Badarpur Road and Safdarjung Enclave.

There is a huge traffic jam on NH-48 and India Gate. There is a long queue of vehicles on the road from Gurugram and the airport to Dhaula Kuan. Vehicles are seen crawling due to heavy traffic jam on the road from Delhi’s Kalkaji Mandir and Nehru Place towards Chirag Delhi and IIT Delhi. There is a jam of about 1 kilometer long here.

Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory to avoid traffic jams. Delhi Traffic Police has given information about affected road traffic and route diversion due to waterlogging through its official X handle.

Let us tell you that due to rain, the traffic gets affected due to waterlogging on the roads of Delhi. From the posh areas of Delhi to the common roads, everything gets submerged. In such a situation, people are once again facing heavy traffic jams on the roads along with the speed of vehicles coming to a halt.

According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), in the next few hours, moderate to heavy rain with thunder is expected in many areas of Delhi including Kanjhawala, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Rajiv Chowk, India Gate, Safdarjung, Lodi Road, Nehru Stadium, RK Puram, Defense Colony, Lajpat Nagar. At the same time, light to moderate rain will continue intermittently in Azadpur, Pitampura, Delhi University, Kashmiri Gate, Seelampur, Red Fort, Preet Vihar.
