Health of 250 children deteriorated after eating biscuits in school, complaint of food poisoning received

The health of about 80 children suddenly deteriorated in the Zilla Parishad school in Kekat Jalgaon of Paithan tehsil of Sambhaji Nagar on Saturday. Everyone was given biscuits as nutritious food. It was only after eating the biscuits that the children started feeling nauseous and started vomiting. After this, suddenly the health of many other children started deteriorating. Within no time, almost all the children in the school started complaining of feeling unwell.

As soon as complaints of food poisoning among school children were received, the Sarpanch reached the school and with the help of teachers and other people, the students were sent to Pachod Rural Hospital in the available vehicles. The health of about 257 children deteriorated due to food poisoning. Whereas, 296 children study in the Zilla Parishad school of Kekat Jalgaon.

It is said that since it was ‘half day’ on Saturday, the children came to school at around 8 in the morning and at around 8.30 the teachers distributed biscuits as supplementary food among the children. After this, the health of all the children from first to seventh class started deteriorating. Parents and relatives of the students who reached the spot also expressed anger over the matter.

At the same time, Dr. Baba Saheb Ghuge of Rural Hospital says that 257 students of Zilla Parishad Primary School had become victims of food poisoning after eating biscuits. Out of these, 250 children were discharged from the hospital. The health of seven students worsened on Sunday morning. Therefore, those students have been referred to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Civil Hospital for treatment.

After school students got food poisoning, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar MP Sandipan Bhumre reached the civil hospital on Sunday morning to see the children and talked to the doctor about the health of the children. After this the doctors said that there is no need to panic. The condition of the children is fine. MP Sandipan Bhumre spoke to the parents of the students and told them that their children are fine.
