Now Delhi High Court has issued a big order regarding ‘Taarak Mehta’. The show’s makers, Neela Film Productions Private Limited, said that the show’s title, characters, faces, mannerisms, dialogues and other elements are now protected under the law.

A few months ago, the makers of the show had alleged that many websites were misusing the characters, name and image of ‘Taarak Mehta’. Many social media accounts, websites and YouTube channels have been identified which are illegally using the characters of the show. Obscene content related to animations, deepfakes, AI-generated photos and characters is being spread.
Recognizing the seriousness of the matter, Justice Mini Pushkarna gave the verdict in favor of the makers. In the decision, 48 hours time has been given to remove all objectionable videos from YouTube. If objectionable content is not removed within 48 hours, the link will be blocked from the social media platform. Strict action can also be taken for this.

He said- We are grateful to the Delhi High Court for recognizing the importance of protecting our property. The court order gives a strong message. As a producer, I have always believed that the story of a show can have an impact on people’s lives. The order not only protected us, but it also boosted the morale of everyone involved in the show.
The makers also said that the court order gives us confidence that ‘our creativity will be respected and protected.’
