Assembly elections are underway in Haryana and Aam Aadmi Party convener Arvind Kejriwal has started roadshows and public meetings here. Kejriwal arrived in Rania area of Haryana’s Sirsa district on Tuesday to hold a roadshow in support of the party’s candidate. Kejriwal said that without the support of AAP, the next government in Haryana cannot be formed. He also said no one asked me to resign (Delhi CM post). I don’t crave power.
Kejriwal said, I resigned and told the voters of Delhi that I will return to the CM’s office only if they bring me back to power. He called himself a son of Haryana and said, your son formed the government in Delhi and Punjab. Please give us this seat (Rani).
Fierce fight for Rania’s seat
There is an uphill battle in Rania’s seat. AAP’s Harpinder Singh is the candidate here. Arjun Chautala and Ranjit Singh Chautala have fielded independent candidates from INLD. The BJP is betting on Sheeshpal Kamboj. Sarvamitra Kamboj is the Congress candidate. INLD has formed an alliance with Haryana BSP. Abhay Singh Chautala’s son Arjun is the grandson of Ranjit Chautala.
Chaudhary Devi Lal’s son Ranjit Singh Chautala won the 2019 elections. Later he supported the BJP. However, fearing lack of support from the BJP, Ranjit Chautala declared to contest the elections as an independent. Ranjit is the younger brother of former chief minister Omprakash Chautala.
Kejriwal starts election campaign from Yamuna Nagar
In the Haryana elections, AAP fielded candidates in all seats, but the party’s main focus was on certain seats. Rania is included. Earlier, Kejriwal started campaigning from Jagadari in Yamuna Nagar. Thereafter, he campaigned in Dabwali, Sirsa. In Jagadali, Kejriwal held a massive road show in support of AAP candidate Adarsh Pal. Kejriwal shared his jail experience and said the blood in Haryana did not break him. He accused the current Jagadali MLA Kanwarpal Gurjar of not completing the development work.
Kejriwal attacks familyism
Kejriwal held a road show in support of AAP candidate Kuldeep Gadrana from Dabwali. Kejriwal reiterated that if Haryana results, the government will not be formed without Aam Aadmi Party. I am proud that I am a son of Haryana and they (BJP) can destroy anyone but not the people of Haryana. He attacked family politics without naming them. Kejriwal said Dabwali has always been home to only one family. Now, the Aam Aadmi Party will liberate them. The Aam Aadmi Party government has established excellent public schools in Delhi. End the education mafia. Electricity is free. Build good roads and excellent hospitals. They were afraid of my honesty.
