A major accident took place in Faridabad, Haryana on Sunday when the vehicle carrying 14 people carrying Kanwar came under the influence of high tension wire. One Kanwariya died in this accident while 13 other devotees were injured and are undergoing treatment. Police gave this information.

Police said that all the Kanwariyas were going to Haridwar in Uttarakhand to collect water from the Ganga river. This incident happened in Nawada area. Police said that 20-year-old Nitin, resident of Tigaon, was referred to another hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Neighbors of the deceased told that about 14 Kanwariyas of the village had booked a canter to carry the mail to Kanwar. Had to go to Haridwar this evening, but before that this accident happened. Eyewitnesses said that many people fell down from the vehicle as soon as they came under the wire.

There was an accident in Meerut also

Three days before this, on Thursday also, a Kanwariya had died due to electrocution. This accident happened in Meerut. The accident happened when Kanwariya was resting in the camp after taking bath.

Traffic ban imposed on Delhi-Meerut Express

On the other hand, Uttar Pradesh Police said on Sunday that after the incident of a car hitting some Kanwariyas, traffic restrictions have been imposed on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and security has been increased. Ghaziabad Police Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mishra said, ‘Vehicle entry on the road from Kadarabad village of Modinagar to every entry point of Ghaziabad district, Meerut Road Tiraha, Mohan Nagar, Loni Road, Link Road, UP-Delhi border to Dilshad Garden. Arrangements have been made to stop it.

Kanwariyas hit by car

In fact, on Saturday, angry Kanwariyas had allegedly pulled the driver out of the car and thrashed him after he was allegedly hit by a car. They also allegedly damaged the car. The car owner was identified as Naubahar Singh (40), a native of Muradnagar, who was also in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The Police Commissioner said that the driver was allegedly in an intoxicated state and was driving the car in the wrong direction. After this incident, Kanwariyas blocked the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and created ruckus, resulting in traffic jam.
