Hariyali Teej 2024: This year Hariyali Teej will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 7. According to the Hindu calendar, Teej is celebrated on the Tritiya Tithi of Shravan Shukla Paksha to get good fortune. This fast is considered to bring unbroken good fortune. On this day, married women keep a fast without water for the health and happy life of their husbands. At the same time, unmarried girls also observe this fast with the wish of a good groom.

On this day, Mother Parvati and Lord Shiva are worshiped ritually. According to mythological beliefs, on this day Mother Parvati attained Lord Shiva through her rigorous penance. Varun, the god of trees, rivers and water, is also worshiped on this day. Hariyali Teej is also known as Chhoti Teej and Shravan Teej.

Hariyali Teej auspicious time (Hariyali Teej 2024 Shubh Muhurat)

Tritiya Tithi of Hariyali Teej will start on 6th August at 7.52 pm and will end on 7th August at 10.05 pm. According to Udayatithi, this time Hariyali Teej will be celebrated on 7th August only.

This time on Hariyali Teej, Parigha Yoga, Shiv Yoga and Ravi Yoga are going to be created. On this day, Ravi Yoga is from 8:30 pm till 5:47 am the next day on 8th August. At the same time, Parigha Yoga is from morning till 11.42 am and Shiva Yoga will be on the next day.

Keeping fast on the day of Hariyali Teej is very beneficial. If you are not able to keep fast then eat only satvik food. On this day, women must do makeup and also offer makeup materials to Goddess Parvati. Gift makeup items to a married woman. Women should not wear black, white or brown clothes on this day. It is best to worship on Hariyali Teej during Pradosh period only.

Hariyali Teej Pujan Samagri

Banana leaves, Bel leaves, Dhatura, Ankava tree leaves, Tulsi, Shami leaves, black colored wet soil, sacred thread, thread and new clothes. Bangles, mahoor, shell, vermilion, nettle, henna, suhaag pura, kumkum and comb for the adornment of Goddess Parvati. Apart from this, coconut, Kalash, Abir, sandalwood, oil and ghee, camphor, curd, sugar, honey, milk and Panchamrit are included in the puja.

Chant these mantras

To fulfill your marriage related wishes, chant this mantra 11 times with devotion on the day of Teej. Chant the mantra with Rudraksh rosary and do it only after complete makeup, it would be best to chant the mantra in the evening.

If there is lack of proper coordination in married life then observe waterless or fruit fast on the day of Hariyali Teej. In the evening, do complete makeup and go to Shiva temple. Offer perfume and water to Lord Shiva. Offer vermillion and chunari to Goddess Parvati. Chant “Om Gaurishankaraya Namah” 108 times. Always keep Rs 11 tied in the offered chunri with you. What to do if there is distance between husband and wife?

If there is distance between husband and wife, then keep fast by drinking water or water from the morning. During Pradosh period, do complete makeup and go to Shiva temple. Light a four-sided lamp of ghee in the temple. Offer sandalwood to Shiva and vermillion and red bangles to Mother Parvati. Then chant the mantra “Namah Shivay” 108 times. Bring bangles with you as Prasad and always wear them.
